Project BioD

Bangladesh Biodiversity Project

ProjectBioD conducted a survey of all the sources providing information on Bangladesh’s biodiversity in plants, viruses, fungi and invertebrates. Dr. Badrul Amin Bhuiya, Professor, Chittagong University and a founding member of the Biodiversity Research Group of Bangladesh, not only put us in touch with relevant experts in the country, but also generously gave much of his time advising on the nature and structure of the output. Our thanks also to Mr. Arif Faisal, Environment Specialist at Asian Development Bank, Bangladesh, for suggesting relevant experts.

We’d be remiss if we did not acknowledge the support and help of the following experts:

Dr. Md. Amin Uddin Mridha — Professor, Plant Production Department, King Saud University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Dr. Mohammad Abul Manchur — Associate Professor, Environmental Pollution and Bioremediation, Microbiology Department, Chittagong University
Dr. Abu Tweb Abu Ahmed — Professor, Department of Zoology, University of Dhaka
